Just been reading a piece on this 16 year old palace player. Apparently training with the first team.
At the age of 15 he was already playing for the U18s of the team , with a piece in the Guardian national newspaper going as far as tagging him to be the next big thing to come out of England
England and Nigeria fighting over him.
Need heard of him. Anyone know if he's that good?

”The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) are aware of him. When they were in London for their training camp, contacts were made with some members of his family but England are lining him up for a call up to their U17 team”

Optimistic as ever

*John Bostock* ahem...

Never get your hopes up with kids.

Zaha came out of nowhere really. Went from an unknown to a starter.

I ain't got nuthin' funny to say. Sorry.

Not just Bostock and not just Palace. I'm afraid that the percentage of schoolboy stars who go on to make any sort of career in the professional game is very low. Fingers crossed for the lad but don't hold your breath.

Has he been involved over preseason ?

Seems like our academy isn't as bad as people feared..

We really could do with a Kid stepping up. Sadly Boateng and Kaikai have never really hit the heights and both will probably end up forging a career in the lower leagues.

I want another Zaha. I won't love my firstborn child as much as I love that man.

That piece is a tad OTT. There was one about Will Ozono a while ago on the same website which was similarly OTT.

I know that Joseph Hungbo was watched on several occasions by England at U18 games last season, along with a player in our U16 side who is likely to feature regularly with the 18s this season but I won't name.

Hungbo is a rapid left-winger, fleet-footed like he has rockets for boots. Scored a late winner on his U18s debut as a 15-year-old with a volley. Hasn't progressed quite as much as was expected in the last two years, but has been one of the second-year scholars brought up to play with the 23s towards the back end of last season and also this pre-season.

I like him, but the next Gareth Bale he is not.

I helped Dom Fifield out with this profile of him.

Your contradicting yourself. Zaha was once a scrawny kid and many had high hopes for him. He fulfilled all our hopes and expectations.
Every reason to get your hopes up for a promising young Palace player.

This is him, the ball boy who Mertesacker claps after he controls the ball with one touch.
