Perhaps very short-term red cards should be introduced in these Q+A's?

If someone is clearly affecting the quality/progression of the Q+A, they should be instantly red carded until the Q+A is done or CPFC2010 go offline, where the ban is lifted.

The fact that Parish & co come on here and open themelves up to questions is something we should regard, and treat as a privilege and NOT an entitlement, or an opportunity for farsical sniping.

Harsh, but it's in the interest of the majority.

They'd re-register straight away. Then we'd be back at square one.

Until CPFC2010 let us know they'd like it done differently, after all, it is they who decide to come on and field questions, we'll carry it on as it is. That's not to say it shouldn't have been moderated a little better, though it's hard to keep up with a thread that moves so quickly! I know Hambo was deleting some pointless posts last night and by the time he'd finished, the thread was four pages longer!

There's no easy way of doing it.

i'm stunned at some of the people/posts on here.

it ranges from s***, stupid, repetitive questions being asked, to people complaining that their questions weren't answered (mine weren't, my toys are still in the pram) to people recommending Steve 'keep his mouth shut' and others damning it a publicity stunt!

...unbelievable.

And i'm sorry, but i have to say it:

Prin_cpfc, you have come across as a right spoiled, unreasonable, attention-seeking brat. I have no idea how old you are but if you're anything over 17 years old, it's very worrying.
Steve Parish doesn't have to answer directly to you (or anyone) and even when he does, you STILL continue to snipe and whinge. "I hope i still feel awful so i don't go on Monday."

Pathetic. Stay away Monday and try to grow up.

Before I reply to your rubbish can you answer one question, did you also think I was being serious about the sexism thing as well?

I didn't mention that, so why should you?

Plus, I wasn't really looking to enter a discussion with you- i made my judgement based on what you have said over the course of this thread and not what you are about to say in response to that judgement.

Have a nice day.

So you are not going to answer and you tell me to grow up. Before you start judging someone you know nothing about, I'd advise actually trying to find out what sort of person they are.

From what I have read, you obviously need to get off your high horse. I tell you what though, I will go on Monday and I'll cancel my season ticket. One less out of the 13k that go won't make a difference, eh?

from what i've read of this thread that you come across as somewhat of an attention seeker. If you dont want to go against Preston then don't go... telling the whole world about it seems a bit pathetic.

Is the best answer to that

Is the most sensible thing you have said to date.

Amusing coming from you

Your a bird, on a football website, talking bollicks and your surprised your getting grief.

Surely their must be an X factor, or strictly re run on telly somewhere for you to watch.

P.s.

If this is the sort of thing you post as your status then I would suggest it tells us all we need to know about you

Edited by dannyh (02 Jan 2011 12.44pm)

Think I'll get a season ticket at Croydon Athletic next season. Their fans aren't jumped up pricks that think they know you. Isn't a flounce, just fed up with jumped up pricks.

Shaaaaaaaaaaaaadddd appppppppp

Are you serious??? If you are then you are a prize c*** who needs a slap

I don't think there is an easy way to do the spontaneous ones - unless CPFC2010 came on at, for example 8pm, said he would answer questions, lock the thread at 8:30 (or earlier probably, given the speed people start logging in), then he can pick the questions he's happy to answer and put them in a new thread?

Already happened. DRT attacked a Millwall fan at Selhurst with seven 10p pieces and was subsequently banned.

Not quite, some of his comments regarding Burley have been quite disrespectful IMO

This is very respectful:

"I spoke to George more or less everyday. I have no issues with him, he's a decent hardworking and very nice man. It was difficult to have to tell him as I think it's as much my fault as his."

Other quotes were critical of his management - therefore not personal. That's why he was sacked. The chairman explains his reasons direct to the fans instead of the media and people have a problem with that. I just don't f***ing believe some people!!

I have no problem with SP coming on here and talking to the fans. As I said, in my opinion some of what he said was. I didn't say all.

This thread sums up perfectly why I don't like the "open environment" of club management we have entered.

I prefer the good old days of a press release and statement.

I appreciate what CPFC2010 are doing for the club and think they made the right decision but as owners they don't need to justify themselves to a lot of jumped up idiots and, quite honestly, I wish they wouldn't.

I know I'm pretty much alone in THAT thinking.

Yeah I sort of agree, it's great that they take the time to talk to us, but some one always has to ruin it!

I like the fact that SP took the time to come on here. There were some good questions, and I thought he did a good job answering the ones he chose to.

Where I agree with you, Saxon, and Cucking, is when all the stupid comments and bickering started. If that can't be controlled in some way, then it might be for the best that SP does not continue to post.

I guess that is kind of the point. In future, I'd suggest that CPFC2010 picks a time they will be online to answer questions and then the HOL/BBS start a thread for people to post questions. A moderator, or some elected person, can then sort through these questions and present them to 2010 for direct answers and without all the chit-chat in between which ruined what could've been good. The trouble is, all these type of threads descend the same way.

I thought exactly this, surely SP could say on a Monday "I will be on Wednesday evening, post your questions here and I will answer best I can."

Everyone can post their questions/arguments and then the mods can sort maybe a top 10/20 different questions to be answered.

Could also state beforehand that questions like "who will be our manager" or "what is our transfer budget" won't be answered so we could actually ask relevant questions and people won't get upset and shirty when some questions are dodged or missed. I guess it could be locked for only CPFC2010 to be able to post, then re opened when the questions are answered or SP 'opens the floor' so to speak.

I know this is work for the mods, but I personally think we're lucky to have this interaction with our owners, so we should make it easy for them, and not hostile.

We should ask hard questions, of course we should. But we shouldn't be allowed to slag off an owner when he/they are doing their best to make this a great club.

Some people will just moan about anything.

This thread, sexism, odd socks, etc.

To those people I say this: Sometimes life can seem like the world is against you. However, at least some old lady didn't put your cat in a wheelie bin.

You did go on a bit though, didn't you? You're the sort of person I was referring to in my previous posts who seemingly went out of their way to annoy people last night. You weren't the only one.

This thing that CPFC2010 do is a massive opportunity for the fans and is a privilege but some see it as a chance to prove how big an idiot they are.

To SW2Eagle - you are talking utter rubbish. There was no decimated squad and Burley had ample support from the board to bolster it. His signings in general have been poor and he clearly lost the players. When should he have been sacked? When we are 15 points adrift at the bottom?

Finally, who cares if Steve Parish answers selectively? Do you not understand that what is said may be sensitive information and as a chairman some things have to remain private. You should be grateful he has taken the time to answer questions on here at all - and until 2am!

Penge - I care if he answers selectively - and so do a few other astute posters. You are welcome to your opinion, but if Mr Parish is going to come onto the forum (which I've told him I appreciate) he must be prepared to answer the questions posed. I've provided my comments in this respect, and will not go over them again.

If you bother to read the posts properly, you'll see that I also understand that some questions cannot be answered - this is not my concern, but there are certainly some that deserve an answer. I've mentioned Syd's already - somebody else asked why Danns only found out about the sacking via Twitter. A valid question and a concerning issue.

As stated, I stand by my view and hope to be proved wrong.

With regard to the squad - my point has only been answered by relying on a pedantic and slightly archaic definition of 'decimated' - rather than by answering the question properly. To clarify - our squad has been vastly reduced in key areas. We have lost Hill, Derry, Fonte, Butterfield, Moses, Ertl, Lee - and that's before the long-term injuries. There are probably more, but I'm not going to wast any more time justifying myself to you.

Edited by SW2Eagle (02 Jan 2011 3.22am)

You are clearly unhappy that Burley has been sacked and feel the need to pick holes in what SP has to say. We fought long and hard to avoid dropping to League One last season and don't want to do it again. I'm happy the board have shown some gumption and made a strong decision on this. Preston are one place below us and sacked Ferguson this week. So they are wrong to have sacked him too?

If you bother to read SP's posts properly you will see that Burley was given ample time and funds to improve the so called "decimated" squad and he did not.

It's not up to the chairmen to inform the players of the sacking. If you knew anything about football, you would know that it's the job of the football manager. If Burley did not want to tell the players, then how is that SP's fault. Do you expect him to ring Danns or each squad member up individually?

In this instance, backing a Mickey Mouse manager or a group of fans who run our club and seem to know what they want for the club's best interests in the short and long term, then I'm behind the board.

The league table does not lie. A chairman coming on a forum to speak to the fans should be welcomed...
