I suddenly feel worried, what will Mark do without mummy's protection.

A GREAT PM. We were known as the sick man of Europe when she came to power. Labour had destroyed the country (winter of discontent, 83p tax rate, strikes all over the place). She turned everything around and did what was needed to be done. I lived and worked through her leadership. Every PM since has been a shadow compared to her. So easy to blame her for the ills of today, but I suggest that we would be in a worst state now if she had never been PM. We would probably be in the Euro and f***ed like so many other countries!!

In 31 years of "suffocating State ownership, union-dominated, welfarism" before Thatcher GDP grew 150%. In 31 years since it rose just 108%. So much for 'economic miracles'. Thatcher was an economic disaster for the vast majority.

But since 1980 GDP per capita has increased more in Britain than in the US, Germany or France, according to figures from the LSE's Growth Commission.

If that's the case, you've just blown apart the austerity lie...

Morrissey...

"Thatcher is remembered as The Iron Lady only because she possessed completely negative traits such as persistent stubbornness and a determined refusal to listen to others.

Every move she made was charged by negativity; she destroyed the British manufacturing industry, she hated the miners, she hated the arts, she hated the Irish Freedom Fighters and allowed them to die, she hated the English poor and did nothing at all to help them, she hated Greenpeace and environmental protectionists, she was the only European political leader who opposed a ban on the Ivory Trade, she had no wit and no warmth and even her own Cabinet booted her out.

When the young Argentinean boys aboard The Belgrano had suffered a most appalling and unjust death, Thatcher gave the thumbs up sign for the British press. Iron? No. Barbaric? Yes.

She hated feminists even though it was largely due to the progression of the women's movement that the British people allowed themselves to accept that a Prime Minister could actually be female. But because of Thatcher, there will never again be another woman in power in British politics, and rather than opening that particular door for other women, she closed it.

Thatcher will only be fondly remembered by sentimentalists who did not suffer under her leadership, but the majority of British working people have forgotten her already, and the people of Argentina will be celebrating her death.

As a matter of recorded fact, Thatcher was a terror without an atom of humanity."

It will take at least another 25 years to rid the Uk of the Thatherite Legacy.

Coal. More demand in the UK for coal than at any time since pit closures.

Housing. Record number of council homes needed.

Deregulation of credit. Speaks for itself.

The Falklands: Same issues 30 years on!

Privasation of the railways: Record numbers of passengers using the rail generating record profits for the operators.

New Universities: Record number of students completing crap courses to be greeted by record unemployment.

The list goes on.

And she stole my milk!

Thatcher has a mixed legacy.

Her haters find it too hard to point to her success or instead find negatives even within them.

The reality is that every main party's politics are wearing her clothes to some extent. She won the economic argument....Well at least with them if not with the 'head in the sand' ideologues who thing that continuing with Foot was preferable.

For that was the choice we had, Foot or Thatcher, no one else.

In my view she deserves all the respectful recognition that she will officially receive.

As for the immature hate angst she receives from some..In my view no one of any real significance really cares to hear it: it's childish.

Indeed Stirling a lot of the vitriol being espoused is being typed on to keyboards from council houses bought under Thatchers tenure....

You are no stranger to vitriol Jimmy - that party play list you and your rich Venezuelan mates did when Hugo Chavez died. Can I borrow it?

There's an impromptu party kicking off next door and I said I bring some music.

Funny how the sun has come out!

Jeez Bertram your late on parade old son. Probably sobering up from the North Hants & South Surrey Real Ale festival. Still enjoy your time in the Sun I love Champagne socialists really...
