Boris was on TV this morning and came across well. I think he's poison publicity wise. The 'Bus', 'Brexit' and being 'ousted' from the leadership challenge. Also maybe too close to their own 'Trump' to play well outside of their core support. David Davis is the Minister for Brexit. I think the last thing they want at the moment is him in front of cameras answering questions on the EU exit, that could come back to haunt them further down the line. Plus it draws too much attention to that single issue which of course 49% of the population didn't want. The Conservatives would be foolish to make the election about EU exit more than it needs to be as that could immediately alienate 49% of the population - and if UKIP can return the same kind of vote as in the last election, that would seriously undermine the Conservatives prospects by splitting their vote. Corbyn sensibly has focused very much on the alienated Labor voters that were wooed by UKIP and against expectations may even make a race out of this.

In the last election 11m voted Tory and there are c.52m adults in the UK so 21% of a representative audience would be Tory voters. Not hard to envisage a representative audience being anti-Tory. Even with an increase in vote this time the percentage wouldn't be above 25%. I agree and think this is the case across the board with Labour supporters...esp on Social media.

I'm not so sure as I think that he's still very popular in the country and probably gained more sympathy after being stabbed in the back by the poisonous Gove.

Having first stabbed Cameron in the back by deciding to be pro-Brexit at the last moment as his preferred route to potential personal advancement? Maybe Boris is simply past his political sell-by date as someone people beyond the Tory heartland believe on anything?

If the Tories win, but she ends up with a reduced majority, she'd have to walk surely? Calling this election, and the subsequent god awful 'campaign' that has followed has got to be one the worst, but funniest, political plays that I can remember in my lifetime.

I think the Tories are struggling for a few reasons. One is that their manifesto is completely un-costed, therefore, they look stupid when trying to attack Labour's figures, as they haven't released any themselves, (for example they said that they would drop corporation tax to 16 percent, but refuse to say how they will fund the cost). Basing, her campaign on being "Strong and Stable", is fair enough, but then, constantly making U-Turns and changing your mind doesn't help when you're running against someone like Corbyn, who, love him or hate him, is generally pretty consistent. Also, speaking of "Strong and Stable", you can get away with having a campaign run on slogans when you are in such a strong position, but, to do that you need at least 7 or 8 slogans, not just one, otherwise, the slogan gets heavily over used and ends up loosing credibility. Then, the most bizarre move in their manifesto, was the so called "Dementia Tax" and the removal of the Winter Fuel allowance, which, negatively impacts pensioners, who are their core supporters. That is all worsened by the attempt to bring back Fox Hunting and ivory trading, which never goes down well with a nation of animal lovers. It's possible May believed, that with such a strong lead, now would be the best time to push through these unpopular policies, as, even if she drops a few points and looses a few votes, she will still get in with an increased majority.
