Woakes bowled well again and Bairstow took an excellent catch.
If we can get a strong start we can win although, so far, the wicket doesn't seem that easy to make a big score on and the weather isn't promising.
Good to see Broad get his 600th wicket.

A reasonable start to the chase of Australia's 1st innings total. Unfortunately there looks to be a high risk of rain showers over the next 3 days thus reducing the chance of a result.

Finding Ponting a likeable and fair minded commentator. Not that usual for an Aussie. Seems a fair guy.

England racing along 222-2 its scintillating stuff.

Under 100 behind so soon, Aussies look ragged in the field, we have to beat the weather and them so this couldn't be better.

7.12 runs an over in that session. Very watchable. Thought that Ali as three before the match was a mistake but he did pretty well. Even when he got out, it could have easily gone for four.

Credit where it’s due, all the Aussie players trotting over to shake Crawleys hand after his superb innings

Unlucky Joe Root, that was the definition of unplayable. Bet the bowlers perked up at that one.

Definitely the batsmen wary after the Root 'gazunder'.

Rough outside off stump and cracks already.

67 ahead with 6 wickets left cap a fine day Crawley's knock will go into Ashes history.

What would be (iyo) a good 1st innings lead?

As will everything that happens in every Ashes test match.
