Pick a charity you want, I bet you as much as you want, work will not begin on the new stand before the end of 2023.

Watch the interview that Parish gave recently about what he wanted for Palace.
He refers to watching Arsenal at the old Highbury and Palace at Selhurst Park.
He noted how Arsenal had moved to the new 60,000 stadium while Palace remained in a (relatively) dilapidated stadium with significant underinvestment.
He thought why can’t Palace progress in stadium terms?
He had this as an ultimate objective after taking over, noting that increased capacity and more corporate revenue will enable Palace to compete more successfully.
I suppose he will be partly judged by how successful he is in this objective.
Of course it’s not solely down to him as there are other parties to satisfy including the council, Sainsbury’s and affected residents and there’s no little matter of the funding too.
Could anybody could have got us there quicker?
It’s one of those questions that’s impossible to answer.
Perhaps more wealthy owners could have offered ‘incentives’ to affected parties to oil the process and quicken the development.
There seems little point in speculating.
It’s reasonable to point out though that other clubs have managed the various necessary hurdles in relation to their stadiums.
Parish himself acknowledges that he doesn’t get everything right but overall he’s doing a very good job in my view.

Agree

Of course, we're so hard done by, there's a media conspiracy against us, we're on MOTD last every week, no other clubs will understand the issues we have, every other club has it easier than us, Croydon Council hate us, we should be grateful when the whole world is out against us.

Paranoia in the extreme…!!

Mate suggest you need to take a chill pill and a reality check..!!

It isn't scheduled to as most fans (but obviously not you) know. The scheduled start date is May 2024. Parish had asked that our last PL game be away from home so that the work could start after our last home game. Of course the PL fixture people ignored him, so we have to wait till the season ends before work is scheduled to begin.

Okay I'll bet you, however much you want, to whatever charity you want, work will not start before May 2024

"Go and support another club". A predictable response which singularly fails to grasp that I am upset because I want Palace to do well, rather than just settling for the same.

If you are genuinely happy with us failing to strengthen those key positions then I'll never understand your mentality as a fan.

I can't find where I said that. It seems that you have singularly failed to read and understand what I posted. I understand that you are upset, but thought you might benefit from listening to fans of a club in a lower league about what ambition means. You seem to have forgotten.

I want Palace to be Premier League Champions, win the Champions League, FA, and League cups every year by the way. I just don't whinge when we don't.

Or he could go to Brighton, sit in a new stadium, watching great football, In a European home tie against ajax and talk to their fans about ambitions and priorities.

Plus Gillingham owners don't mouth off about the huge income and sponsorship deals you can generate being a London club or the huge catchment area and being a sleeping giant.

Brighton? Why? It's nowhere near where he lives. And they are in the same league as us anyway. If the Brighton fans are whinging, then they are similar to Canterbury Eagle. Forgetting that they already enjoy much success. So he would learn nothing there.

I'm not sure what you are getting at with the next paragraph. But then again, I struggle to come to terms with how simply you demand spending and dismiss finances. You don't appear to be able to understand much of anything.

We would all like the board to open the cheque book but it's not going to happen. The truth is that there is nothing we can do about it.

Mike Ashley was hated by Newcastle fans for years who protested on a regular basis so that he couldn't even go near the city. Ashley just ignored it the only reason he sold the club was out of the blue the Saudis arrived with a sack load of goal that had nothing to do with the clubs supporters.

Click bait is now saying that Manchester United has been taken off the market by the Glaziers (hated by the fans) as they haven't received the price they want for the club. Again Man United fans protest all the time the Glaziers don't give a damn they will go when it suits them and not before.

So we are stuck with our board for the time being. The only ray of light I see is that once the new stand is built* we will be more attractive to a buyer as the hard work will have been done.

*Would you buy a house that needed a major renovation where costs and what you might find once you start are uncertain? Or would you buy a house where all the hard work has been done and you know where you are?

No but let's just take the stadium as an example. Arsenal have managed it, Tottenham have managed it, west ham have managed it, Brentford have managed it, Fulham have managed it. Wimbledon moved to Milton Keynes, starred again, climbed the football leagues and have managed it. We are still negotiating with Sainsburys.

... I always knew it would all come down to the Nectar points! Don't forget Brighton have done it too and appear to have reached the 'next level' in an impressive fashion. Clearly, it's possible.

The coming seasons will be built by introducing the academy players with the odd buy here and there, the money we eventually get from some big sales will go to funding the new stand, if we are in a safe position in January, one will be sold, in my opinion that is good business, we now have a squad that is worth 500m+ where 3 years ago we had about 150m +wilf, in my opinion its a great achievement.

Can we have a breakdown please? I find this figure excessive.
