I have a sneaking suspicion that TPTB wouldn't be unduly saddened to see Palace relegated. Proof for me comes in a referee's performance, how one team is treated compared to the other.
Nevertheless a game performance by the players today, alas trying to hold it tight, nick a goal, and then hold on, is a difficult art to master and requires not only a level of skill and concentration, but an even playing field as well.

After that if anyone thinks Hodgson ,can not manage this threadbare outfit, let alone thinks he has lost the changing room then it’s beyond me.
Let’s face it a whole lot of solid opinion , know the ref made that game a certainty for Liverpool, but let’s face it we are well used to it ,it’s happened to often to be a coincidence with them. It would seem if we should survive this year ,it will still be happening in future it’s become that reliable an event.

prior to the game, i was expecting a comfortable win for L'pool and a fair referee.

so, we showed the quality of a team capable of finishing in the top half of the table.

the FA must do a psychological profile of that REF, cos he bottled it today, lost the plot. It was never a dirty game. And for the first 96 minutes he was only throwing cards at us.

Awful performance by the referee. It wasn’t a dirty match at all but 8 yellow cards to Palace including 2 for Ayew and one for Roy. Another 2 for Liverpool. No game should have 10 yellows and certainly not this one. He spoiled the match. Shame on you Madley!

And that doesn’t include the yellow that VVD got let off.

The first yellow wasn't a yellow either. The Liverpool player kicked the free kick at Ayew who lifted his leg to get out of the way.

Unlucky Palace, the effort, organisation and guts deserved at least a point.

Today is the latest exhibit in the case against VAR. One penalty given then overturned, another ignored then granted from above when none of the participants knew it was even an issue. Then, the decision that actually altered the game was not subject to even the slightest scrutiny. Better just to bin the whole thing and accept human error as part of the game as it was for 150 years before the f***ing geniuses 'improved' things.

For what it's worth, I think the ref felt Ayew was deliberately preventing a counter attack, which he possibly was, but so is more or less every lazy trip, nudge and block in the opponents half. Ayews was one of several by both sides.

Finally, more bloody injuries. Johnstone, Edouard and Lerma all unable to continue today. I think Johnstone saves the second goal if he's still on, but perhaps Lerma gets to the player a bit sooner if he stays on, perhaps Edouard does a tiny bit more to occupy Liverpool and ease some pressure if he stays on.

Mind you, perhaps if Mitchell played Roy could rotate ward and Clyne, perhaps Doucoure would have helped, and Eze, and Rak-Sahki....

It's going to be a difficult month.

Am I being stupid? What is TPTB?

It tells me that any decent manager out there can get this team playing. Roy still needs to go. I will never forgive him for his comments post Bournemouth.

And the two Liverpool yellow cards came in the last 3 minutes of injury time after it was mission accomplished.

In terms of performances from a ref it’s either bent or incompetent but not sure it matters which.

Trying not to be full of conspiracy theories but you can’t deny how many times over the course of a season the big boys seem to get a helping hand when the smaller teams get nothing.

Such a shame that is all. We are talking about.

Today the team had everything you could ask for, grit and determination. That is the minimum as a palace fan we should get. I’ve said before I don’t want us to lose but doing it with a fight at least eases the pain a bit.

Well done for such a better performance. Next week is another free hit but I feel we should be trying to get something from the weed and Chelsea.

i noticed that. A cynical attempt To cook the books. To make the statistical breakdown look more like a fair match.....which it wasn't.
