If and when he does leave i have full faith that we have a back up plan in place and players are already being looked at as possible replacements

He seems to have a great relationship with Glasner.. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him stay.. at least for another year.. the way we are playing suits him and we could well be challenging for Europe next season...

It's going to be like Zaha every transfer window. Hopefully not unsettling to all involved.

I disagree with this as I fear they are both going in the next transfer window.

We just have to hope we can invest the funds wisely and find two more (And some!)

Do they have to be good lookers?

I see Newcastle's hat has been thrown into the ring by the media. I would say there's no chance, but given their owners were willing to murder their own people to build a city I guess we can't say for certain. I did see some of their fans suggesting Almiron is better than MO which at least gave me a good laugh.

He looks like a City-type player but I can't see where he fits in unless Foden or Silva were to leave. I wouldn't be surprised to see him end up at PSG given his desire to play for the French national team.

I'm hoping he wants to enjoy one more season with us where there's less pressure and he can enjoy his football. It's not like Zaha though, Olise is good enough for any club in the world and has a maturity and calmness that will see him end up at the very top.

This is one of the few threads I want to go on for years

TBH, I thought City missed a trick when they didn't pick him up after his first year with us, but they decided to retain Mahrez for another season. Guess they didn't suffer too much for that decision

Olise is smart with the release clause. Apparently too, the clubs have to go directly through him, rather than Palace (this may have been Chelsea's mistake last season).

What it enables him to do is collect a bunch of offers. For Palace it's the same (65 million, or whatever it is). But for him, he can set the clubs against each other to demand the best compensation package. He's in total control.

He will leave in the summer because someone is going to at least double, if not triple his salary, which is something we can't match. Obviously he'll want playing time, but I think most teams will play him pretty much every game at that salary.

According to The Athletic

[Link]

His agent is facing a ban and Reading are also facing charges. No mention of Palace but does say his agent can broker any deal over the forthcoming transfer window

I wonder.

Would Pep give him the freedom he currently enjoys under Glasner. Pep (and Arteta for that matter) are all about ball retention whereas Glasner is more in the Klopp mould with high pressing and moving the ball forward quickly. I can imagine Olise getting bored at Citeh - look what it's done to Grealish.

I think Eze would struggle as he's more of a showman but Olise looks more like a player who be happy to follow the quick one/two-touch approach and would revel in being surrounded by the world's best players. Haaland would probably hit 50 goals a season with his delivery.

Too true. If you are out with Pep, he has an alternative waiting. Nunes has barely been used, Stones can't even get in the side when Ake or Akanji are injured and we all know what happened to Phillips
