With all the noise coming from Spurs fans about wanting their own team to lose tonight….. would you want Palace to lose if it meant Brighton not winning something?

No, never. We've lost quite enough games without wishing for it to happen.

Is the correct answer.

I don't understand people who bet against their own team either, I just couldn't do it no matter the odds.

I'd be ok with it, if the output was Brighton not winning the league.

Conversely and perversely this year I have secretly wished that team well against fellow relegation stragglers when hopes were very low.

There, said it, good to get that off my chest.

The ridiculousness of the Spurs situation is that for their club it's potentially the difference between CL qualification of Europa League. We could very well beat Villa at the weekend and Spurs could get top four.

I'd lose a meaningless game if it stopped Brighton winning something but not if there was something significant on the line.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

Now I did used to do this but my reasons were that if whether we won or lost I would have an up side to it.
Trouble is any time I did it we drew.

Would be my answer.

Personally, for the game tonight, I'd quite like a draw.

Keeps the 'Title Race' interesting for the last day but would equally secure Villa a CL spot so they'll hopefully be on the proverbial beach.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I support Palace through thick and thin (and there's been a lot of "thin" in the 50+ years I've been supporting them). I always want my team to win no matter what the consequences for other teams. I never really got the BHA thing. For me, our rivals were other "Sarf" London clubs and I wouldn't want us not to win just because our win could or even would result in one of them winning a league.

Spurs may be Spursy tonight. A tie now does them no good, but means Arsenal could win the league.

A win tonight is great, but they could go Spursy again, and lose to Sheffield United at the weekend.

To your original question, no. I want my team to go out every week with a winning mentality. Otherwise why even watch the match.

Tottenham are perfectly capable of losing matches at the moment regardless of what their fans may or may not wish for.

My answer to the question is "no". To do so would breach my belief in sporting integrity.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)
