There's nothing wrong with being ambitious. I for one think we can reach Europe. We have a great squad and a very good manager. Aim for the stars and if we don't acheive that then land on the moon. Edited by Daddyorc (14 Aug 2018 5.33pm)

There’s clearly a fine line between being a realist and negative in your world then? Has it not escaped some of you that we’re on the cusp of a major redevelopment of Selhurst. You don’t think that will shape some of our decisions in the not so distant future? I admire everyone’s optimism but one swallow (win against Fulham) doesn’t make a summer (expecting to qualify for Europe) ... I wouldn't call it one swallow. We only lost 1 of our last 8 league games ladt season (against liverpool) we were unbeaten in 5 pre season games, and now had a very good away win against a team who spent over 100 million on new players. We've also improved the squad with some very good players. Personally I think that's good reason to be optimistic.

Think it was Oscar Wilde. Nah. It's definitely Black Eagle. And what a good quote it is.

My definition of that; not being involved in a relegation battle from the outset, not losing to Brighton, turning over Man Utd in the league finally, keeping the core of our squad together and moving a season closer to the redevelopment of Selhurst. Personally, that’ll be more than enough this season ... well for me anyway! Anything else would be a bonus ...

This calendar year, we have the fifth most points in the league, albeit Chelsea have played one less game
