Quote Paddy Mulligan at 16 Jun 2013 2.17am

Stephen Thompson scored a brill goal some years ago away at Leicester I recall.

There were two stunners in that game. Thomson span his marker and curled one in from 25 yards. If you don't know the goal, think Oscar against Juventus last year.

Then Andrejs Rubins (I think) picked up the ball inside our own half, drove at the Leicester defence and smashed one in from 35 yards.

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

They were both stunning strikes, and may well feature at a later date. Spoiler alert...

Top 50 Goals: No. 47: Aki Riihilahti Vs Arsenal (6th November 2004)

Aki Riihilahti will always be loved by the Palace faithful, and this goal epitomised why he was adored in SE25. Trailing to Arsene Wenger’s classy Arsenal side, Aki provided a moment to remember, as Matt Woosnam remembers…

Any comments are always much appreciated.

Thanks.

Top 50 Goals: No. 46 Andrejs Rubins Vs Leicester City (1st November 2000)

Andrejs Rubins only made 37 appearances for the club, having arrived in October 2000 from Skonto Riga, but his goal away at Leicester really was a stunner…

Top 50 Goals: No. 45 Wilfried Zaha Vs Brighton (27th September 2011)

When we travelled to The Amex in September 2011, most expected us to take a beating. What followed will go down in Palace history as one of our great nights, with a late comeback sparked by Wilfried Zaha, as remembered by Bradley Russell.

Any comments are much appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Dan, you don't seem to be attracting many comments, but I am following this every night.
I cant wait to see where my own favourite, which was Phil Barber's curler with the outside of his left foot past England's Chris Woods, against Norwich in Jan 1986 is.
I am sure it must be on some sort of end of season video somewhere

I'm afraid I haven't ever seen footage of that goal. If anyone can track it down, please let me know.

Cheers.

I don't think any exists unfortunately. Another classic from the 1985/86 season that doesn't exist is Andy Gray's amazing goal against Portsmouth. Standing pretty much by the corner flag in front of the Main Stand/Whitehorse, he lobs keeper Knight with the outside of his boot.

Top 50 Goals: Kevin Phillips Vs Peterborough (4th May 2013)

He was to have the final say on last season’s play-off campaign, but it was his goal at home to Peterborough on the last day which lifted our spirits, as remembered by Matt Woosnam…

Andy Gray's goal in that match was remarkable, to the extent ,that I was never really sure that he meant it. What was also memorable about that game was that we won 2-1, and Gray scored all three goals!
Dan, I am enjoying this, and I am interested in your opinion of Palace's 50 best goals. But my top 50 would include
Ian Wright at Wimbledon 1991
John Salako vs Man U 1991
John Salako vs Birmingham 1993
Gareth Southgate vs Portsmouth 1993
Andy Gray vs Man C 1990, and
Paul Hinshelwood vs Liverpool 1977

Top 50 Goals: Danny Butterfield Vs Wolves (2nd February 2010)

Danny Butterfield wrote himself into Palace folklore with his performance against Wolverhampton Wanderers, on a night when it seemed as though anything was possible…
