What makes a Palace Legend?

Would have to suggest Paul Hinshelwood... Doris was a servant to the club for 10 years and I remember the goal he scored against Liverpool in a cup game at Selhurst... probably the only time I saw my Dad show any emotion!
Most certainly not European. |

Many 'greats' or cult heroes or fav's, such as: Cannon, Martyn, Young, Thomas & Gray, Philis Barber, Super Al, Madden, Doogie, etc etc etc. Only 1 palace legend in my opinion: Ian Wright....pure 100% class.
I remember when I was a kid bunking over the wall at Palace home games.........trouble was the old bill always caught me and threw me back in. |

I think that if you are looking at what makes a Palace legend, then you simply cannot overlook Simon Jordan. The man saved this club from oblivion, pumped umpteen millions of his own hard earned cash into the club with no hope of a return, and delivered on his promise of premiership football within 5 years, a year early. The man receives a disproportionate amount of stick on this board, but I think that he should be justly recognised for his contributions tho this club, and so I believe that he deserves to be called a legend. One of the best chairman this club has ever had without a shadow of doubt.

In no particular order ; Terry Long - held the record for apperarances before ; I haven't gone for Sanson, Wright etc. or even Geoff Thomas...only the players ( and one manager ) that never asked to leave the club of their own free will.

West Wickham Eagle - He did something else too. Pardew put the cross with the outside of his right boot ("that's the part I Like" said the commentator on TV) for the Ian Wright's first goal in the second leg of the play-off final against Blackburn!

I've got a feeling he played that ball with the outside of his right foot down the line to Barber who put the cross in (always thought Brian Moore had a soft spot for Palace.)
