What a tremendous goal - Kasami netting with his weaker right foot ! In terms of Palace goals, what has immediately sprung to mind is the "Yogi Bear" Hughes effort when he ran, cut in and rocketed the ball home and a goal from a very unlikely source, John McCormick who got further than perhaps he ever did in open play, took a swing outside the area and the ball ended up in the net ! What a tremendous goal - Kasami netting with his weaker right foot !

In terms of Palace goals, what has immediately sprung to mind is the "Yogi Bear" Hughes effort when he ran, cut in and rocketed the ball home and a goal from a very unlikely source, John McCormick who got further than perhaps he ever did in open play, took a swing outside the area and the ball ended up in the net ! Think it was a toe-poke ! I recall some of the other excellent goals mentioned in this thread.

There was a great photo of "Yogi" as he struck the ball, with Sheffield United's Tony Currie about to tread on Yogi's foot; Currie had a mean grin on his face as I recall. All this goes to show what an impression that goal made on me. Could I make it joint top with Don Roger's "Pele" goal? Anyone remember Roger Hoy's 20 yard bullet header from a few years earlier?
