The majority of them are said to be issued for the health and care sectors, so not just the NHS. I know from personal experience how difficult it was to recruit local care staff more than 20 years ago and this has certainly got worse since then. I ended up recruiting abroad, travelling to interview, processing and funding the visa applications and flights and finding accommodation. It was either that or close the business. You cannot function without staff. Maybe you prefer to see our elderly go uncared for or are in favour of compulsory euthanasia for those no longer able to cope for themselves?

I cannot believe any genuine employer who went through everything that’s needed would allow that to happen. If criminals are abusing the system then that’s down to the Home Office and UKVI to do their job better. They really are not very good.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

Well my instinct is that we are losing skilled people to be replaced by lower skilled. It matters because the skilled pay taxes and probably don't qualify for benefits the unskilled is the opposite. Do you regard carers as unskilled? Lower skilled perhaps but still essential. There are minimum salary requirements applied to these positions before a visa is granted.
