I don't see why. A choice still has to be made. Not everyone can be accepted. I am not obliged to take the first on a list.

So the 50 customers are in a queue. The bakery can turn them
Down to take the next person?

One person walks in and they can’t

That’s the crux of your argument.

They lack the intellect, or ability to reflect, to see how they themselves do this and contribute to this all the time.

In my view - which I will confess could be called bias given my intense personal dislike for the RBS group - this is another example of going to extremes.

Assuming that we are all aware of the past misdemeanors of that organisation, they now want to be seen as the polar opposite of what they were in the Goodwin era. It's all ' beanbags and scatter cushions ' with them now.

I think they've scored an own goal with this situation. And regardless of what I think of Farage, he is absolutely right to bring this into the public domain.

Farage is the wrong type of victim for many, how they must wish it was one of the protected groups.

Coutts “ we are an inclusive bank” but only if you have at least £1m in investments or £3m in savings…very inclusive

No, it isn't.

If they can satisfy all 50 people in that queue, who are all willing to pay and are not threatening them or anyone else but behaving respectfully, then they should.

If they cannot satisfy all 50, because they don't have enough stock, then generally those first in the queue would be served. What they cannot do is arbitrarily select those they prefer to serve, via personal preferences or prejudice, especially of a discriminatory nature.

You can refuse to serve people, that's a right, but there must be a valid reason to do so, and discriminatory prejudice isn't one. If you offer a service to all, then all must be served.

There is a FB group of 10,000 who have been de-banked by Natwest

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

Why should he have accepted it quietly? It was an outrageous decision, whether you like NF or not. A slippery slope if the banks are not called out on it

It's not an outrageous decision at all. It's a very badly handled decision that has rebounded disastrously, but they had every right to make it. Farage is simply playing politics with his private life. You watch him squeal about privacy the next time some journalist finds some dirt on him!

Why the government has decided to get involved puzzles me. I guess they fear losing votes to Reform over it, as Reform is very obviously the destination for Farage's current political ambitions with GB News the vehicle he is using to get there.

Perhaps I'm missing something here, but NF has hardly changed his political stance over the years.

So why was his money good enough when Coutts accepted him as a client but it's not any more ?

If the NatWest / RBS Group is worried about its reputation, well that ship sailed years ago.

NF may well not have changed but society has and every organisation, banks included must recognise and react to that. They will carry out periodic reviews and make decisions about how best to manage their reputation. That looks to me what has happened but they handled it very badly.
