£8m that's a lot of money for a bench warmer, from what I saw of him last season both home and away, he is nowhere near as good as the two centre backs we already have, he doesn't have the physical presence of Delaney, or Tactical awareness and ball control of Dann.

He's 6'3"!

It's a shame Pulis is such a rubbish judge of players!!!

Caulker + Dann + Ward = Englands back line Euro 2016

Bit of a stretch, if those 3 played for a top 4 club then it would definitely be a yes

Yeah, that top four team selection process is really working for England. I could see a quality back four being chosen from any club from now on. Even Palace.

So I manage a Workshop which provides a safe learning environment for blokes struggling with PTSD and other mental health issues. Being a Palace fan isn't listed yet.

He is obviously a top drawer talent and under pulis would naturally thrive. It's just that I would hate to see one of our centre backs dropped after such a good season. And let's face it, it's gonna be Delaney. Perhaps TP may try DD at left back? I know he played there early in his career. Probably not.

I wouldn't be happy with £8m being shed on him. He melted last season after quite a good start for cardiff.
Yes maybe one for the future but not £8m plus a massive weekly wage.
Not for me, go get Hangeland and keep DD or get someone cheaper...

There's a limit to how much you can shine in what turned out to be a shocking Cardiff team. Bare in mind all the off field shenanigans compared to a settled club like ours plus midfield cover for the defenders. At 22 he's still only a kid in terms of centre halves.

I'm itching for this deal to be done & dusted.

Fair point, just don't want to break our trend in over spending.
I'm not so sure on him, but Pulis is the type to get the best out of him I suppose.
Why did spurs get rid though, is he that good?
I'm not so sure....

Remember too that he had the pressure of being the captain in a struggling team, and a club with all sorts of off the field issues. That must have had a lot of media pressure on him, at just 22.

He won't have those problems here as Jedi is the leader on and off the pitch, so Caulker can just concentrate on his football. Under a far better defensive coach than OGS, he could really develop and shine.

I agree would be harsh on DD, but bringing in Dann was harsh on Gabbi, but it was the right thing to do in the long run. Pulis is paid to make these tough decisions.

Yes its £8m, but I think he'll be a good addition. Hope we get it done.

Please everyone: just a note of caution.

I too would be chuffed to bits if this happens and proud the we have got ourselves into this financial position to spend that sort of money on one player.

But

1. I don't trust Harry and the boys. They could still scupper this deal.
2. WE HAVENT GOT HIM YET.

You are all talking as though it's be confirmed.

Don't forget, Scott Dann had been in two relegated teams before joining us, so on paper could have had his credentials doubted in the same way... Hopefully (IF he joins), Caulker's talent will out too

George Courtney, the World Cup referee, everyone is looking at him. When will he blow....?
