Firstly, I did not say he knew full well in advance they wouldn't take his order; he was being provocative to see how they would react.

Out of all the other bakeries he could have gone to, he just 'happened' to choose a business that is known for their religious faith.

"Gareth Lee, targeted a bakers knowing full well that their religious convictions would put them in a difficult position regarding his silly cake slogan"

In fact,no evidence whatsoever to suggest he "targeted" them or knew "full well" they wouldn't take his order. No evidence he had a clue before his ordered was cancelled about their particular "extreme"religious beliefs.

No "evidence",other than your intolerance of the beliefs of the guy.

Edited by legaleagle (31 May 2015 2.27pm)

You are sloppy for a legal person, I would not want you in my corner during a cake-wording controversy; I said "knowing full well that their religious convictions would put them in a difficult position", not that they would necessarily refuse the order. I am not intolerant of his beliefs at all, I am intolerant of Ashers being prosecuted for their beliefs.

Do you actually believe he is a legal person?

He spends most of his time on here debating and is either an imposter or sh1t at his job.... LOL

I think he is probably one of those security guys who sits on the door and makes you empty the contents of your pockets onto a tray.

I think he is the chap who helps the chap who collects the trays. Or aspires to be.

Faith schools should be banned and infringement of personal rights as a result of religious doctrine should be illegal. Time for our mostly secular country and it's mostly secular government to clamp down on religious nuttery.

Of course they will be more interested in keeping their ethnic/religious minority voters sweet.

I wouldn't go so far as that, but they should only be available without any state funding as private schools, and still have to match a secular curriculum. I don't have a problem with a school teaching creationism that's what RE is for, I have a problem with it being taught as science.

Any religion that looks down on women, or other people for not sharing thier belief in thier own brand of sky fairy (so I guess all of them) is sh1t, furthermore anyone who believes in all that load of old woof is to be frank, a simpleton.

The old orthodox front wheelers are just as intolerant, misogynistic and mired is superstitious rubbish as the old fundamental muzzies...both living 21st century existences with 11th century outlooks.

They deserve each other.

There are many good faith schools....But ultimately I agree.

All schools need to have some sort of ethos.... they should probably pursue humanism and move away from religion.

Why ? They create division and perpetuate the religious organisations that this World could well do without.

Humanism is a crock of liberal sh*te; f**k it make them actually study philosophy, and equip themselves for the capacity to think for themselves.

Freedom of religion is a right in this country. Provided the Education board ensures that the education provided in non-religious subjects is sufficient, then its those peoples right to fill their heads and childrens heads with spurious nonsense like most parents do.
