Has had a great season on loan at Middlesborough and I believe Mourinho said he wanted him to go out on loan to a premier league club who could offer him first team football. Although i'm not 100% sure he would be playing every game if he came to us, surely he would be a great addition on loan?

I think Pardew said that we needed to move up a level and that involved taking proven, rather than speculative, players. I am not entirely a believer in Bamford but either way, I'd imagine we'll be pursuing a more proven commodity at top level.

Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God.

We're a top 10 club, buy him or leave him. Don't want us to be bottom feeders to clubs like Chelsea. Bamford undoubtedly has potential, but isn't yet proven at this level.

If that play off final is anything to go by then they can keep him.Didnt look like he was up for the fight one little bit.Anyway we're at the stage now where we should be looking at top division proven scorers not bringing on the kids of other clubs.

Think he went into the final on the back of an injury so he hadn't been training too much leading up to it so perhaps this had an impact.

On loan, he'd make a better option than Sonono.

Sanogo? I'd be open to taking young player like him on loan but clearly it's a risk as to whether he can handle the step up. I'd be concerned that we're obliged to play him as part of a loan agreement, even if it transpires the move doesn't work. Seemed that way with Sanogo.

I like to call him SO-No-No-NO... But yeah, someone like Bamford is a good choice, he's done well at lower levels and probably needs to step up a level. We can't buy him and it would be a risk to do so, but as an option on loan, he makes sense.

Plus, if he turns out to be good, but not 'Chelsea' good, it puts us in good stead to sign him permanently on a decent deal.

I think we ended up play Sonono often because we really didn't have too many options, and to protect players who were maybe more vital. Once we'd established he wasn't good enough to win games. He was expendable, which Murray, Gayle and Chammers weren't.

When we were chasing a game, he proabably was the best attacking option on the bench.

I would really like Bamford on a loan-to-buy deal. For me he is the closest thing I have seen to Murray in a youngster and I think he would greatly benefit from shadowing Glenn. A loan deal would give us a really good look at him and let him integrate into the squad as well as providing good cover and an option in cup games. Murray can pass on the baton to him the following season.

My daughter's bf is a Boro fan and tells me he's read on their boards that Pards met with Bamford in the last few days. No idea how true it is but thought I'd put it in the mix.

Makes good sense.
