interesting this year

Jessica Ennis
Chris Froome
Mo Farah
Lewis Hamilton

All deserving but surely Farah is most deserving?

did the double double in 2012, world champs a year later and again this year. The King of long distance track running and the greatest track athlete we've ever produced

Agree.

Had to endure horrible/nasty treatment by the French (having urine thrown in his face on one stage) and yet remained composed and fought on to win the Tour a 2nd time.

Cucking's had to deal with that for years and the only thanks he gets his Yewtree giving himself more time to get his house in order.

Froome has achieved what no other British cyclist ever has in that he's won Le Tour twice and has worn the Yellow Jersey more time than any other Brit.

Froome all the way for me.

Cynic or realist? It's a fine line!

Has there been a track athlete who has achieved what Mo has?

I feel that cycling has had the recognition, Wiggins, Hoy and even Cavendish have won this honour. Plus Froome wouldn't have won without a strong team behind him

More track athletes have won SPOTY than Cyclists by a large margin.

Every sportsman has a "team" of coaches, doctors etc.

Don't forget that Froome helped Wiggins win the Tour when he easily could have gone and won it himself. On this tour his team weren't there for him as much as Wiggins' was.
