This is what the lefties should be frothing over, not whether a £50k a year tube driver gets an extra day off Philip green bought BHS asset stripped it, sold it on and now all the staff lost their jobs and the taxpayer will have cover their lost pensions

Oldest trick in the book. All legal, innit. If politicians really want to do something about it, they'd legislate against it. But they don't. So they won't.

Robert Maxwell but without the suicide. He was a Jewish Labour MP so that should tick all kinds of boxes.

BHS has for many years been a quality-free emporium. So that suits PG perfectly then.

The guys who took over BHS for £1 are all accountants and financial sector workers with zero retail experience. This was always going to happen. Like a car crash in slow motion really.

Government serves the interest of the corporations, not the electorate. Same applies to New Labour, and the Liberal Democrats. Same as its always been. Phillip Green knighted under Labour and employed by the Conservatives - Democracy inaction.

Well they've gone one better and blamed Capitalism from what I've seen this morning. As a confirmed definite leftie, capitalism isn't the problem, its people and the way that capitalism is implemented to serve the interests of those people with power and capital. Capitalism is such a broad subject, as it really refers to the idea of profit and loss accounting, and the means of turning surplus resources into benefit. You listen to some people and you'd think it is about creating poverty, eating babies and kicking cats. The issue really lies in the failure to regulate and control peoples capacity to use capitalism as an excuse to unethical and immoral ends (which arguably in some cases isn't capitalism anyhow). Of course there is a problem when its not actually a surplus of resources that are being 'exchanged' with corporate interests (such as child labour or regimes which are bankrolled by western powers to allow exploitation of their resources). We just like to call it capitalism. Adam Smith would never have stood for that kind of nonsense.
