50 years ago today since Don Rogers scored the goal of the season against Stoke. I remember it well. We’d just missed out on goal of the season the previous year when one of Yogi Hughes two goals against Sheffield United was runner up. Don’s goal was great individual skill turning 2 defenders inside out before lobbing it over the keeper. Mind you Yogi’s was even better!

If in 1973, when Don scored that goal, a fellow Palace fan had been reminiscing about a goal scored 50 years before it would have been in 1923. I somehow suspect the younger fans on this site would be raising their eyebrows at us remembering this!
