I can. His leadership of the club over the past year, if not longer, has been appalling. Plus, his ego-driven strutting around Selhurst Park rankles, even if it's no more meaningful than that.

It was he who saved the club when it was on the brink.

So what? That was over ten years ago. We're all grateful. We'll never forget. But it hardly qualifies you to be the right owner in 2023.

It's really not. I'd say Brighton is an example of shrewd ownership. Newcastle's owners have been shrewd in their short tenure. Burnley, hiring and supporting Kompany, have been shrewd. Parish, in comparison, is a s***show.

Im quite looking forward to seeing how Paddy has us playing. The U21's play some great stuff and who knows, he might be the one to take it full time Solskjaer style.

I do get your sentiment but really, we've been in the PL for ten years now. If the extent of our ambition is to promote the reserve team manager then really, let's just go down and enjoy the Championship. I'd like to see us make a hire that shows some bloody ambition for once. Persuade a manager who has a serious profile and pedigree to come to Palace, then back him properly. Show a bit of intent and stop cutting corners. Show we're serious about progressing.

I'm pretty sure for 6 of those years yourself, Den and a few others have hated on SP..😂 I might be wrong, it might be longer.

Not to mention it's all well and good saying "just get this and that manager in..." well when Vieira wasn't even first choice it obviously isn't that easy.

10 years... longest run in Premier league with teams who have spent a ton more below us. Chucking cash at players doesn't always work. Look at Fulham who have yoyo'd, Everton, West Ham currently. Finding these lovely rich Arab owners isn't that simple with SE25 catchment and a stadium in its location.

The football over the last three months has been utter d0gs*** and worse than anything Roy served up even in his last season but ultimately I couldn't give a fvck as long as it keeps us in the top flight.

Experienced coaches alongside a younger one like Paddy Mac in the interim doesn't sound a terrible solution but I still don't see this "most talented group" scoring goals.

Ahamada looks direct and quick should be given a proper chance IMO.

We should have gone for the intelligent Dyche in the first place and backed him rather than the pretentious half arsed nonsense of the last eighteen months.

It's as easy as you make it. The chairman's primary job is to hire good people. The manager is the most important of those people. To attract the right candidates, you have to sell the club to them; persuade them it's an attractive position and that if they take the job, you'll back them. Parish's failure to hire his first, second, and indeed other choices before alighting on Vieira last time around is a clear sign that he's not been up to the task. His hiring decision is based on whatever he can get. Brighton seem to be able to identify and attract good managers. So do Forest. Wolves have generally been able to do the same. As have Villa at least with their most recent hire. Yet here we are, a PL club for ten years relying on our reserve team manager to put out the fire this weekend when the board has known for a long time that Vieira was likely to be sacked. That's rank incompetence.

Thank god for the absent mindedness of footballers, we’re still 12th.

Does make me think however that although it seemed as though we’d moved on, we’re exactly back to where we started in this league. Get to support two teams though, Palace and anyone playing those around and below us!

‘Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!’ - fans of American mafioso inspired media will know.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Yep, we are Palace. Bloye, Noades, Goldberg, Jordan, Parish. Fifty years of self-impressed, preening t***s at the head of the club pretty much all of who have thought that saving the club then gives them license to mismanage it. We've been here before. Again. And again. And again. And again.

That’s literally how arguably the best manager in the world got into first team management. No, we’re not Barcelona, but it’s all relative and not sure what your objection to him being a success. Obviously a big if, but I don’t get what the issue with the route you mention is.

We're the Arthur over ere!
