I had a thought last night too that if we are to receive the rumoured £35m for Olise having bought for £7m that is a great return at 5 times profit in two years, even if it's not full market value. Also, Olise is a player who has just had a significant hamstring injury in his early 20s, Palace may be winning here. Only time will tell if he has a long term weakness in that area that goes again and again (I hope not for his sake). I'm thinking of Michael Owen who in the latter stages of his career suffered regular hamstring issues. Chelsea can afford to have him out more regularly than Palace so the risk is lower for them. If we receive good compensation and reinvest it in another few youngsters we may be stronger overall even if weaker in that one position while a new player emerges.

Some of the stuff going on just seems fishy to me, but I can't put my finger on exactly what it is. Mind you, I also think it's fishy O'Brien being sold to Lyon for what is rumoured to be a lower price than was offered by Troyes earlier in the window. The whole multi-club ownership model doesn't sit well with me.

In the absence of any comment at all from the club on the latest news, it looks as if it will fall to Roy at tomorrow’s press conference to be the first to field all the questions. That’s if there’s any time left after the journalists ask Roy to pay tribute the the England Women’s team and to eulogise over how great Arsenal are, he may just be asked a few questions about Palace - about Olise, Hall, Doucoure, possible incoming transfers. I would expect Roy to demonstrate the same fighting spirit as shown on the Sheffield United touchline and bat these questions away. Mind you he was uncharacteristically open about the difficulties in recent interviews about the Guiata problems and also the interest in Olise. Perhaps an old leopard can change his spots and he will again be quite frank in outlining some of the difficulties the club are currently encountering and how they plan to meet the challenges.

Hodgson is a wily old fox. I read that so-called openness as him putting more pressure on the board to get inward transfers moving. Likewise his public reluctance to sanction a loan move to the Championship for JRS.

My thinking - -If Newcastle are owned by PIF & the Saudi club buying ASM is also owned by PIF, then yes you are right in saying that Newcastle benefit most in terms of FFP if ASM fetches as much as possible on the open market, but if both clubs are owned by PIF then its just like taking 25 million out of one pocket & putting it in the other (the money & the player stays in the family & is available to repeat the process as many times as you need to) whereas if you sell the player to the outside world then you only get the money once. If Ted Boely is in charge of transfers then he is an idiot.
Players like Hall, who are seemingly Chelsea through and through should be kept and played, not sold and especially not to Newcastle.
Newcastle are crying out for a left back and the Chelsea scum have dropped one in their lap whilst reneaging on a deal with us and snaffling Olise - assuming that happens.
I hope that Chelsea finish outside the top four and that we take points off them.
I like Pocchetino but the club are absolutely disgraceful in the way that they do their business.
