From the Telegraph today (and no I don't subscribe to that or any other paper - just found the article online and thought I'd share it)

I read that and think it is a balanced article.

It takes something like this to give me food for thought and recognise the obstacles the club faces in trying to move forward.
Sadly I forget all this after witnessing a poor performance on the field lacking any attacking intent and all the disappointment and disillusionment return.

I suppose in conclusion I recognise the obstacles but still don’t believe we’re getting the best out of our resources and believe we should be getting more than 6 wins in 26 games and displaying more tactical innovation in trying to improve performances and results

I think every fan on this forum should read that article, it is what many well balanced fans think, the mistakes of the salaries in 2013/14 cant be repeated, and no player bought at a large fee must have a sell on value, superb realistic article.

Any of us could have written that article - he’s missed the main point - most fans accept the constraints Hodgson is operating under - but don’t all accept how he sets the team up given the resources we have.

What Resources are they?

You read all the moans on here - not giving enough game time to the younger players, running the starting players into the ground, lack of substitutes so the players are tired and we end up conceding more goals at the end of a game. I’m not saying it’s not a good article - it is - but says nothing we don’t know and doesn’t give much of a fan’s perspective

Very pleased you posted that article doombear. A very thoughtful and well written piece by Sam Wallace who has captured my own feelings about our club's situation to a tee.

Our performances may have been difficult to watch in recent times, but we all know that Palace is not a wealthy club and both Mr Parish and Roy are, like us, passionate supporters who don't want us to fail.

This afternoon's game will be tough and whilst I can no longer get to games, I sincerely hope that those of you who are at the Emirates give the players and manager a huge show of support.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

What do fans actually know?

Have you ever been entirely happy with what any of our managers have done?
Even though we all like to think we are experts, do we really believe that we know more about football or the state of our squad than Roy Hodgson?

That article sounds like something SP PR team has put together.

20m+ per year from the new stand BS this was what SP was claiming math doesn't add up.

A stand which is claimed to be 160m+ he is only putting in 5m.

This does not even ask the questions why is the commercial money so low with the owners we have and being in the Prem for over a decade why has it not increased.

The wages are mentioned but again who is in charge of over paying these people our wage bill is ridiculous (For years we pay people who do not even contribute)

You are very tiresome with your same old rehashed comments, the 2013/14 wages are at the same time H&B arrived, and the promised money never happened, cheer up Grumpy 11 years in the Prem is an outstanding achievement.
