Roy would be best to stop talking in public.

Here is his latest nonsensical comments on BBC website....

Speaking again on Thursday, when looking ahead to Monday's match against Chelsea, Hodgson rejected supporters' claims that Olise already had a physical issue but confirmed he has now suffered a hamstring blow.

"It's devastating for him, for the club, for everybody really," Hodgson said.

"I don't think he was carrying an injury, I think it was more fatigue."

Why can't they admit that collectively they cocked up on various occasions with Olise's complex and serious hamstring injury and attempted recovery. To claim it was fatigue is ludicrous. Based on that comment alone, Roy is a liability to our players welfare. It is quite shocking.

I am out of steam for Roy and his judgement. He needs help.

"He needs help".
Time to send him to an old people's home together with Biden.

I have to say I would love nothing more than Roy to shove mine and all of us bitching about things at the moment down our throats and I really mean that. I would love to see him turn it around and get a good send off at the end of the season.

He seems like a decent bloke and when you hear ex players speak about him, most (if not all) say good things about him.

However the frustration of the stubborn way he is going about things and the utter dross we are having to watch is leading to this weeks toxic posts on here and atmosphere at games. We can't all be wrong and he is really not helping himself (not that he probably cares about that).

It is clear he is here for now and probably until the end of the season. I want to get behind the team again. I want to enjoy the games again I just can't see it happening though.

exactly.
good post.

i have only one sentiment for all those Eagles baying for Roy's head, Carlo Ancelotti is not currently available.

and i cannot think of any other manager who could get a good result from our current bargain-basement squad. There are about 4 or 5 players who are even worthy of wearing that shirt. The rest of them ? just not good enough

Honestly - sometimes I hold my head in despair..!!

What on earth are you going on about only 4/5 players worthy of wearing the shirt - really..!!

I’m guessing in the 4 to 5 club - you’re including Olise, Eze, Guehi, Andersen and Johnstone - they would be my top 5..!!

If so what about Decoure, Lerma - then the 2 new signings Wharton and Munoz..!!

So that’s 9 worthy of wearing the shirt..!!

Then you have the unlocked potential of Franca, Ahamada and Ozoh - so there’s another 3..!!

Richards, Edouard and Mateta - are far from the worst we’ve ever had - so there’s another 3 - so by my counting that’s 14..!!

So where on earth are you getting only 4 or 5 good enough to wear the shirt from..??

Problem is injuries and Roy - not the quality of the squad - depth maybe - quality no..!!

Stubbornness is Roy’s modus operandi - it’s never his fault, he’s right and everyone else is wrong..!!

He’s never been any different - in fact if anything getting worse..!!

ah yes. We got the best wheelchair squad in any hospital.

the worst we ever had ? that would be a rogues gallery of expensive dross......Shefki Kuqi, Benteke, elderly Edgar Davids....all rubbish.

my point being, the bottom 6 teams in this League have many excellent players. We are barely capable of keeping up with them.

Mirrors exactly my thinking DenTyler, great post.

I'm trying not to let frustration turn into vitriol and personal attacks on somebody who has previously done the exact job he was employed to do which was keeping our club afloat as a PL outfit. Some gratitude has to exist there.

If a level headed, if not objective, dissatisfaction and concern can be claimed, and the club do not take action, there's a fine line between voicing this and involving yourself in histrionics.

I've never wanted to run CPFC nor have I ever considered myself worthy of managing the first XI. I just want to have something to look forward to throughout the season and cheer on my local club. The opportunity to do that has felt a bit absent recently and doesn't look to be returning any time soon.

I remember hearing Hodgson discussing his approach to his work over the course of a season.
He said he doesn't look at it on a game to game basis, but instead at tranches of 6 or so games at a time.
The presumption is that allows him some sort of objectivity so he can balance off the shocking defeats v Arsenal and Brighton against the 6 points obtained in the home games v Brentford and Sheffield United.
So far over the course of the season we are on just over a point a game which would keep us up.
The real test will be whether be can maintain this return without his better players in forthcoming weeks.
A point here and there, or narrow defeats won't do it.
We will need to beat the likes of Burnley and Luton to offset the likely defeats by Liverpool and Manchester City.
As fans we look at it on game by game basis and think 'he has to win this game or that game' to stay, whereas the club probably take a more rounded look.

We are 'Birds on the same twig' on this matter.

I for one have not looked forward to watching our games for some time due to abject results and the dearth of entertainment.
My dear wife has opined that I have taken leave of my senses making an arduous journey to and from Selhurst Park given my incessant whingeing and fulmination, wearing a face like a thunderclap and unable to bridle my tongue.
