Between 1993 and 2013 we had three yoyo seasons, the rest in the championship: 94/95, 97/98 and 04/05. They all had their individual ups and downs - just wondering which was your favourite season?

Two cup semi finals and the Oldham miracle (94/95), Lombardo, Brolin (97/9, AJ and the final day disaster at the Valley (04/05).

I think I enjoyed 94/95 the most - hammering Villa and Citeh at home in the League Cup and looking a proper side. Watching Lombardo in 97/98 was a privilege and the madness at the end of the season had comic value, and how we turned round a terrible start in 04/05 by going 4-5-1 with AJ banging them in was really compelling, but I'd choose the Southgate, Coleman, Salako side of 94/95 - esp that amazing 4-1 away win at Wolves in the cup.

I think the Oldham miracle was 92/93? That season has somewhat unjustifiably been added to our catalogue of one season stays in the PL, which overlooks the fact that it was in fact our 4th consecutive season in the top flight ( it just so happened that the PL was introduced in 92/93)

I'm not sure I really enjoyed any of those 3 seasons that much. Particularly galling were those end of season games v Southampton at home and Charlton away in 2004/2005. In both games we led 2-1 and if we'd hung on in either we'd have stayed up. I recall we conceded against Saints in the dying moments of the game.

That’s one of those palace things that really grates even after all these years, it still bugs me. Along with the one season they decide to relegate 4 teams and surprise surprise we finish 4th off bottom, also when we thought we’d qualified for Europe, but they decide to lift Liverpool’s ban

I know I need to get over these things

We need a Balotelli style 'why always us?' T shirt.

That's the great thing about being a football fan, you don't.

Being a fan is all about grudges.

To me he’s a reminder of the start of our demise, once we swapped him for King Kenny I think we all knew it was the beginning of the end of that brilliant few years. Then once he jumped ship and did what he did in the cup 1/4 final that was it

Nor QPR. To be honest, compared to what was to come up front in the early 80’s, McCulloch, Jones, Brown, Mahoney, Aylott etc, Allen wasn’t too bad for us considering we were suddenly relegation fodder. It’s just being swapped for Kenny Sansom, although not his fault, he didn’t stand a chance on the popularity front even before what he did in the 1/4 final when he went back to QPR

Sorry yes the Oldham miracle was 93 - 95 was Alan Smith having a public ding dong with Noades, two cup semi finals, thrashing City and Villa in the League Cup, Cantona's kick, Ray Houghton on loan, must be the winner - no holmesdale stand just a big plasterboard - and I preferred that side to the 90/91 side - Southgate, Coleman, Gordon, Salako, Armstrong ... if only Ron had coughed up to keep Paul Stewart we could have been top half.
