I think Guehi and Olise, will and should go, one more injury to either and their value will plummet, Andersen and Mateta new contracts, who is going to buy Edouard? Smith-Rowe, Whittaker and Greaves and a LWB in, and i suspect Johnstone will go, so a second choice keeper, hopefully Franca will have a good pre-season and become a regular starter.

Always makes me laugh where fans pluck these names out of no-where like you can pop down to Tesco’s to buy a player, who needs Dougie Freedman a?

As ME alluded to on the Freedman thread, it's looking more & more he won't be here next season. He has made the final 3 in the interview process by Newcastle.

Has it been an interview process, I wasn’t aware? I thought it was their own shortlist. Oh well we shall see

I like Smith Rowe and the limited bits I've seen of Whittaker and it would good to see a LWB added.
If Eze does leave it could be worth a look at Hamer of Sheffield United.
He was exceptional at Coventry and is one of the only Sheffield United players who looks comfortable at this level.
He has a good passing range,an excellent shot and an eye for goal.

I'd prefer Beretan Diaz from Sheff Utd (although he was on loan).

I'd prefer Cameron Diaz.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

I understand a shortlist of three, including Dougie, were interviewed and the job is now Dougie's if he wants it.

I just hope our board back OG to the hilt. He has shown he is more than capable of getting the most out of the players. With a bit more money and with Dougie picking out the talent, who knows were this could lead. I just have a nagging feeling one of the big boys will come knocking as soon as their team starts to falter. At the moment our manager would appear to be our greatest asset. I haven't felt this optimistic since the days of Bright and Wright with Copple at the helm. Come on Mr Parish and the others, this could be your chance to be the team of the twenties! Oh...maybe we shouldn't go down that route again.

Breach of the rules and a points deduction? We are already close to the limit and need to play this very carefully.

However, you are correct. After the match, I said to the missus that, keep the players and with a fit first team, no reason we cannot push for 4th next season. For once she didn't laugh in my face.

Board backing is needed, but not sure “money” truly is the defining need! Players like Olise, Eze, Wharton, Bowen, Watkins etc were standout championship players who are more honest, humble and dedicated than the big time Charlie marque signings (ask Man U fans).

What we need next year is not necessary a big change to first eleven selection but way more depth for squad rotation, form and injuries!!

That will move our ceiling up from 12th to 8th very easily indeed! Add in a missing piece for the following year and 4th should not be out of the question!

I recognize this approach is way too simplistic, but I remember a kid called Ian Wright who turned up with boots and an attitude and he turned out to be half decent for us!

There will inevitably be departures in the summer, and it's highly likely that they'll be needed to fund any incomings.

My only hope is that Bayern appoint a manager soon as with each one that turns them down I feel Glasner is going to start getting more mentions... especially if they were considering Ten Hag - last nights game would have clearly highlighted who is the better manager. It's clear the impact he and his coaches have had on the team, and whichever players were to leave in the summer I'd still feel confident with him at the reigns.
