So many of the squad are now in form I was going to list them and then thought why bother it's easier to do the opposite.

The players who I don't think are performing are Eddie, Jairo and Ahamnda none have impressed so far. Maybe he can get a tune out of them but if he says let them go that's good enough for me.

The goal in the 88th minute encapsulates the transformation.
When Mateta scores we have 5 players in the opposing penalty area.
That would never have happened under the previous manager when we would have had 10 behind the ball at that stage.

The last the three performances have three of the best I’ve ever seen from Palace. The turnaround has been incredible. Mateta is a new man, Mitchell can seem to get forward and Eze has gone to a different level. Two excellent signings in January and the return of Eze/Olise have helped.

My concerns are:

1) we’ll lose key players in the summer - it’s important we keep up this form so the squad believe we can challenge for Europe next season.

2) The style of play is extreme high tempo and I’m not sure how long it can last. We’ll need more depth as it will likely lead to injuries.

Every reason to optimistic at the moment. Parish and co have to be credited for the January transfers and for wooing Glasner. I’m sure most of us didn’t have a clue who he was. This feels like a real turning point.

I agree, the change we gone through since January has been incredible. All credit to Glasner for this. I do share your concerns, though regarding keeping the squad together. Nearly everything good we do goes through Eze, which is concerning if we lose him in the summer. Will OG be able to get this side to tick without him? in that respect, where I think Olise is a 'better' player, I also think that he's easier To replace. If we were to lose Eze in the summer he has to find a solution to this. I have full confidence that he will.

Two things: the first is that I can't help thinking how we all praised Vieira after his first few games - then it all went to pot. But then I look at how Ollie has improved everything and everyone to such a large degree that my confidence is restored. Wonderful to see.

The second thing is, why would Eze want to leave a thriving, exciting environment where he knows he'll always be on the team sheet? Mr Parish will give him a rise and he'll be keen for Ollie to help him develop. Same goes for Olise. For sure Mr P won't let them go without a fight.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

I don't think SP&Co will let us lose both Olise and Eze in one window, but there may be some ambition from them both to play for one of the big 6, and CL Football. Personally I think Olise at this stage is better equipped for that Step up. Eze could benefit from more Glasner tutelage.

I've noted on another thread how this feeling/team reminds me of the first 6 months of Vieira's reign. But where his team hinged on one cog, Gallagher, this one feels more of an Engine where it's less reliant on one position, Eze being only concern if he becomes unavailable, but then i'd expect OG to find a solution. I never had that feeling with PV.

If someone had opined that we would secure wins against Liverpool, W.Ham and Newcastle, I would have concluded with some justification that the person was a complete nincompoop and sanity would have been questioned.

Vieira is a great man and was great player

I think the presence of a true legend of the premier league really lifted the club and the players and inspired improved results.

But a great man or great player doesn't necessarily make a great manager and tactically he was found lacking when the initial stardust blew away in tougher times and he couldn't inspire the team to even have an attempt on goal (for 3 games in succession!)

Glasner had no benefits of previous glory to his name, for most of us, but with bravery and belief in his system totally changed the strategy of play the squad had been used to (other than Gallagher on his own!) in the tough times of a relegation scrap. And got the players to believe in it.

So I think there are big differences that make me positive that he can sustain some prolonged improvements. Basically that he knows what he is doing and can communicate it to his players and motivate them to carry out the plan.

But Glasball after 2 months is at a higher level and as you intimate is more sustainable because it isn't dependent on one or two individuals but on the 11 players on the pitch at any one time working together according to a plan they believe in.

Who is going to be his midfield pairing next season from Doucoure, Hughes, Lerma and Wharton? Difficult choice, Hughes has been outstanding in the last couple of games, as has Wharton.

Whisper it: we can actually rotate effectively.

I know!

I don't think we all did, Vieira has been a constant failure at all the clubs he has managed, while Glasner has never failed to deliver at all the clubs he has managed.
