I think Yousuf realises that the SNP will get spanked at the next election so rather than go down leading them to a spectacular defeat he manufactured a row to allow him to resign. The Labour Party in Scotland will probably tell their activists not to bother campaigning just get the popcorn and champagne in. One more point

Good riddance to bad rubbish, see if the replacement is similar rubbish. The Scots are reaping what they have sown by voting for these clowns, SNP and Greens.
