Happiness is a draw against Hamlet

A young reserve side captained by Gregg Berhalter was held to a 1-1 draw against Dulwich Hamlet, at Champion Hill Stadium.

They went behind after around 10 minutes when Berhalter's back pass failed to reach Matt Parry in goal and it went over his head into the back of the net.

Shortly after, Jo Kuffour (a trialist currently on the books of Arsenal) levelled from close range after Tariq Nabil put him through following a good run into the box.

Craig Dobson was full of tricks down the right wing, but there was nobody in the box to get on the end of his decent crosses. Then Berhalter had a decent header saved from a Dobson corer right on half-time.

Immediately after the break, Chris Head forced the Dulwich keeper into a great save with a shot from the left.

Mid-way through the second half, Dobson was moved up front and had two glorious chances to score.

Both from close range, the first from a good cross from Ben Watson on the right which the keeper saved and the second he skied over from a similar position.

Then trialist Hamid Barr had an empty goal to aim for, but hit the post after the keeper had rushed out of his goal.

Apart from a few attacks in the second half, Dulwich rarely worried the Eagles defence.

Palace: Parry, Tomwell, Head, Barr, Antwi, Berhalter, Dobson, Surey, Kuffour, Nabil, Haye.

Second half subs: Gibson, Hunt, Heeroo, Watson.
