Crystal Palace made light work of non-league club Tavistock by cruising to a 4-0 victory.

New signing Calvin Andrew scored twice with Ben Watson and an own goal completing the scoring against the Lambs.

The Eagles were on top right from the start with Andrew, Paul Ifill and Nick Carle spurning chances, while Sean Scannell hit the post.

They eventually broke the deadlock after 38 minutes when Andrew saw his initial strike from just inside the box saved before converting the rebound.

Eagles boss Neil Warnock made wholesale changes at the break and substitute Ben Watson doubled the lead on 54 minutes with a neat chip from Carle's centre.

Two minutes later, Lambs defender Chris Short turned in Danny Butterfield's strong right side cross into his own net.

The part-timers' lack of fitness was beginning to tell and it was no suprise when another goal was scored as Andrew grabbed a second to make it 4-0.

Sub James Dayton had an effort crash against the bar and the scoreline could have gone into double figures had Palace got out of first gear - but a good work-out for Warnock's men.

Palace starting team: Speroni, Hill, Butterfield, McCarthy, Fonte, Derry, Carle, Soares, Scannell, Ifill, Andrew.
