Crystal Palace got back to winning ways with a 2-0 win at Coventry City.

Goals from from Clint Hill and Ben Watson ensured the Eagles picked up their first win in five matches and keeps up their 100 per cent record at the Ricoh Arena.

Hill got Palace off to a great start by putting them ahead after just nine minutes for his first goal of the season.

Jose Fonte headed Watson's free-kick against the post, and as the ball rolled along the goal-line, Hill smashed it home from a tight angle.

Sean Scannell, Watson and Paul Ifill had attempts on goal as the Eagles dominated.

Five minutes before half-time, former Palace star Clinton Morrison got the ball in the Eagles net but saw it disallowed for offiside.

Eight minutes into the second period, Watson made it 2-0 with a free-kick and his fifth goal of the campaign. On-loan West Brom forward Craig Beattie went on a powerful run down the left but was hacked down by defender Elliott Ward.

Watson stepped up to deliver a rasping low free-kick from 20 yards that went through the Coventry wall and into the bottom corner.

Coventry: Westwood, Osbourne, Ward, Dann, Fox, Mifsud, Gunnarsson, Beuzelin (Doyle 83), Tabb (Simpson 60), Best (Eastwood 62), Morrison.

Not Used: Marshall, Hall.

Palace: Speroni, Lawrence, Fonte, McCarthy, Hill, Derry, Watson, Oster (Ertl 90), Ifill, Scannell (Carle 78), Beattie.

Not Used: Moses, Hills, Kuqi.
