Crystal Palace suffered another heavy defeat, this time losing 4-0 at Manchester United.

Following on from last week's 5-0 thrashing by Manchester rivals City, the Eagles again put in an abject display and failed to get on the score sheet.

Manager Roy Hodgson's plans went out the window inside three minutes when Palace conceded the first goal after Marcus Rashford easily bypassed Joel Ward to cross for Juan Mata to score.

It was 2-0 on 35 minutes as more slack defending saw Ashley Young deliver a left-wing cross for a virtually unchallenged Marouane Fellaini to volley in at the far post.

Fellaini added another goal and United's third of the day in the 49th minute with a close-range header from Rashford's free-kick.

And with four minutes remaining, in-form Romelu Lukaku slotted in an easy finish from Anthony Martial's pass to secure a comfortable victory for the Red Devils.

Palace have now lost all seven Premier League games this season without scoring – and no team in 129 years of the Football League has achieved this unwanted feat.

United: De Gea, Valencia, Smalling, Jones, Young, Fellaini, Matic, Mata (Herrera 76), Mkhitaryan (Lingard 66), Rashford (Martial 72), Lukaku.

Not used: Romero, Darmian, Bailly, Blind.

Palace: Hennessey, Ward, Sakho, Delaney, Van Aanholt, Townsend, Milivojevic, Cabaye, Schlupp (McArthur 68), Puncheon (Riedewald 68), Sako (Ladapo 74).

Not used: Speroni, Kelly, Mutch, Lee.
