That is why it was only 2 points. Had a look into Liverpool's costs which seems to have been 75 mil. Thinking of their ground, however, it's in what looks like a cheap area. I think Liverpool bought a lot of the housing for next to nothing at some stage. All of which is a problem for us at Selhurst - London prices really. I should look at how much Fulham have spent. That's in a more expensive area than Selhurst so was probably quite a bit.

If someone can show a projected extra revenue vs cost projection then we can have a more informed view. If the actual hard cost is 150M, how could the stand generate say 15M per year profit for a ten year pay back period. I don't see SE 25 as somewhere that has been crying out for more company away day locations or hotel rooms. IF it produces an additional 8000 seats, say the ST are 800 per year at todays prices, thats 6.4 M gross income , so less than half of the 15 M in the example Perhaps there are tax benefits etc

It's the price of doing business. No doubt ticket prices will go up. From the owners perspective I still say the biggest hurdle to new money coming in is the rebuild. We all know how cost estimates rocket, once it is built potential investors will have a much clearer idea of our finances. Edited by Badger11 (21 Apr 2024 7.13am)

I would imagine a few have been done over the years, whether they are competent & unconflicted is another matter - I think the end result will become that in the euphoria of it being built / completed the write down period will become lost over a longer period but providing that we remain in the PL the debt will take care of itself over time by virtue of the product remaining very sellable / there are always people with money that want to watch PL football (if they dont want to watch Palace they will pay to see the opposition) Obviously that mindset becomes a tad vulnerable if the ESL becomes a thing & the most popular teams go off playing in different leagues - but I think it will still be OK based upon the fact that very little is going down in price & soon people will have to pay more to watch non ELS teams. There's so much that that has to go on behind the scenes apart from just planning permission (both before and after this) that people don't realise. I saw someone post previously that Fulham has gone quicker than palace that's just frankly ridiculous. Corporate events, prawn sandwich group packages, football tourism, and STs over £1k. One issue is we are over reliant on TV. This seeks to rebalance the source of revenue. But I agree. At a cost of £100m you can see it, but £150m??
