You know, if someone came to the club with a billion in the bank and said "Parish, get out and don't let the door hit you on the arse on the way" and that person had the club's best interests at heart, I'd be the first one there waving Parish off.

Thing is that I don't think Parish is the problem. The yanks aren't up for owning a club outright, they're purely in it for the money and the thought of being outright owners I've no doubt repulses them.

So that leaves Textor and the bottom line is that I just don't trust him. A really quick Google search doesn't shine him in the best light with his approach to multi-club ownership, the way he treats those at the club, and the way he runs the club. For example:

Lyon - Currently under sanctions from the French Football Federation and having to sell up their better players on the cheap due to the way the club's been run financially.

And this article from the FT.com, that explains that Textor's business model is to get young players and then sell them off for profit, thereby generating more money for the investors, not necessarily the club (if it's in the FT, then it's not aimed at the likes of us is it?).

So do you feel happy with this person having a controlling interest in the team? I don't think it would be a leap of imagination to see him selling off Palace players to make money to keep Lyon afloat and then suddenly our fortunes are intertwined with teams in other leagues, in other countries, how they are doing on the pitch, and more importantly, financially.

If Parish has spotted this (and I'm not a canny businessman nor a millionaire and I can spot it) then this is probably why he's being a pain in the backside to Textor and not letting him have his own way. Can't see Textor working to keep Olise, Eze, Doucouré, or Guéhi in the last transfer window with his mindset, let alone offering Wilf a lucrative deal to stay.

So whilst you might think people are sucking Parish's c*** on here, perhaps it's better than the devil's tit...

You're entitled to your opinion, it's as valid as anyone else's and I agree that the squad needs depth that we don't have. You've obviously got Parish in the sights as the problem here, perhaps he is 100% responsible for our current financial status, league position, and the players we have in the squad, however, I would suspect that he would take that as a compliment.

The sources I've pasted in about Textor are from a quick Google search and perhaps there's evidence for the contrary out there.
I'd welcome reading them if you can post them here, but I think MSN and the FT are fairly reputable sources of news (whatever that means on the internet!). Why did Parish do business with Textor in the first place? Beats me, personally, I would have kept him away from the club, but perhaps he thought he could get the money off him (didn't we get £87 million for Vieria and the academy finished off from Textor?) whilst letting him think he'd get control when in reality there was no chance? Sneaky as f**k, but if in our benefit then we're conning the conman by the looks of it.

Not sure I agree about Parish wanting to stay on if a billionaire bought him out. Think that would only happen if he locked himself in his office, and fairly sure no one would take his calls if that happened. However, none of this would be happening if Jordan had sold up to Gadaffi or P Diddy had come in and bought the club when we were in administration, these "what ifs" would have saved us from having to put up with Parish, guess we'll never know what would of happened...

Not sure I agree about the managers though and them not wanting to stay under him. I'm only going to go back to Freedman, but he left after getting lied to about a war chest at Bolton (by his own admission), Holloway left as he said he couldn't hack it in the Premier League, Pulis did fall out with Parish so yep, he didn't want to stay under Parish, Allardyce left reportedly to spend more time with the family, but Pardew, de Boer and Vieira were all sacked due to poor results. I supposed we could wonder if Holloway and Allardyce were lying, but that would be pure speculation that anyone could claim from every direction.

But am I embarrassed by the depth of the squad? Well yeah, who wouldn't love to have a squad like Man City or even Chelsea(!) where you look at the bench and see players sitting there doing b0llocks all, but with their worth being more than our current first team squad, not one football fan out there wouldn't want that. The thing is that we don't have the money for that, plain and simple, and until someone comes in who isn't yet another asset stripper or conman what do we do? Where do we get the funds from? I don't think Parish is the problem as he's not withholding back a few hundred million that's stopping us from buying players, we simply don't have it and that won't change unless someone with deep pockets buys or invests (without an agenda) into the club.

I would also like to ad that the FFP also pays a part in how much we spend and the players we spend it on , even if at times it looks like we seem to be the only club that care abouts it , while others blatantly try to find loop holes to get around it .
