In general terms not specific to our club, supporters are entitled to express their displeasure providing any dissent is not inflammatory,personal, racist or contains the coarsening of public discourse. Such outpourings might not be justified but often reflects the frustration not only of the game in question but of previous matches and of the 'Wider picture' as seen by those whose animus often includes hot-boil bile. In the final analysis, nobody is above criticism but whether it is warranted is an entirely different matter. Edited by Willo (19 Jan 2024 9.17am)

Everyone is entitled to express their personal discontent but vocal outpourings in herds can lead to some unnecessarily unpleasant situations. Roy is working with what and whom he has available and our ambition has financial constraints imposed by the board. If we don't like it we are always free to walk, however, it's clearly a long and very frustrating haul for our supporters ... nothing new there! Edited by Henry of Peckham (19 Jan 2024 10.34am)

I think the question will answer itself if we fail to beat the worst team in the division at Selhurst on Tuesday week. The genius that is Roy Hodgson has masterfully engineered the weekend off for the boys, by not trying to score in 2 cup games vs Everton. They should be refreshed and ready to try to score a goal, which is very difficult to do in the Premier league. Particularly so with Hodgson's approach to the game.

It might wake the boring Roy Hodgson out of his comfort zone and make him understand that the same dull routines week in week out don't cut it. Nothing easier than to put everyone behind the ball. Try coaching attacking play Roy, with some novel ideas to get behind the opposition and offer fans of the game a little excitement. Problem is you can't change the habits of a lifetime, that why you've been booed.

Have we forgotten how Charlton got bored with mid table and slit their own throats? However dull Roy ball might be, it cannot compare to watching us playing in the league below under Peter Taylor or Trevor Francis. The quality of football we are watching now is 10 times better than the crap of that era. We are also playing sides who are often made up of top class internationals and which cost multi millions. Sure, I'd like to see more progression, but an FA Cup game is insignificant in the grand scheme. This club is attempting to better itself under Steve Parish and unless the League scraps fair play, all the Oil money in the world cannot improve our squad in the short term. Yep , they need to give their heads a wobble .Most have been moaning that Roy doesn't make subs and when he does he gets booed . Bloke can't win ,well we know that but booing Roy ? He's Palace royalty I agree he cant win. When Olise was left on till almost the end the other week (because he needed minutes) they were moaning Roy should have taken him off earliert so that Franca could come on. Even though when Olise came off Franca was already on and doing nothing!
