Roy showed he doesn't care about cup it's the same every season with him. Even PV did better job in cup. Why did he even bother to start the likes of Eze. He has been around a long time but what has he really achieved in top flight football nothing he hasn't won anything. He has been hard done by this season you could tell by his tone at the start of the season he was not happy with the lack of recruitment. People going on about Charlton not the same and you could use Stoke who like Palace are happy to just sit with no proper investment look what happened to them.

As one of the poor sods who were there, it was fu-king freezing, a s*** game and he took off our one player with flair, so the fans are entitled to sing WTF they like, and come on, I’m sure he has heard worse!!

Exactly. We once met an elderly couple while travelling. The man had played as a keeper in the league many years ago. In one of our conversations, she told us that she was always completely furious when her husband was criticised, ridiculed or insulted by fans during a game. He just interrupted her with a smile and said that it was all right and that the fans were entitled to express their displeasure. After all, they had paid for the match, while he had been paid to play. He went on to explain that nobody had been particularly affected because everyone had been the target of ridicule at some point. And anyone who couldn't take it wouldn't have been suited for sport at this level and would have had to look for another job.

Those involved with professional sport expect to take the rough with the smooth.

Lets not forget, Roy has done it to himself, given the impact he made and the goodwill he created at the end of last season. All gone, by playing plyers out of position, criticizing the younger members of the squad, having a go at the fans, and choosing not to set out to play attacking football in games we can win. No excuse with Sheff U. If we don't get 3 points, he needs to move on.

Pay your money do as you please but bear in mind what that does psychologically to the players particularly the younger ones. They don't think to themselves "oh they're booing Roy" they'll be thinking they're going to get murdered if they fvck up. Completely counter productive. On a broader not I think our "best fans in the league" are in danger of making ourselves look muggy particularly some of the social media stuff. I was in the bar after a recent game and some bloke shouted at Parish that he was a w***er as he walked through. He obviously aired him but it was really cringy and pathetic. The response to Parish's tweet about the death of Franz Beckenbauer was little better nor the bottle throwing at Roy. Don't get me wrong I'm not feeling the love at all and haven't for a while but some of the whining and bollocks being spouted is unbearable.

What good does it do. Nothing more laughable than seeing people boo. They do not care. Roy, Moyes, big Sam etc…. Do you think the give the slightest about the criticism they get. Water off a ducks back and comes with the job, Hodgson got knocked out to Iceland when England manager and was the laughing stick of the country, I’m sure this compares to that. His employer is satisfied with the job he is doing (rightly or wrongly) and that’s the only person he answers too.

I have to say that despite only one goal and some questionable passing it was quite enjoyable to watch (albeit in the background at the pub whilst I was drinking). In fact I am finding Championship football better to watch all round than the PL which has become a bit boring and predictable. Whilst acknowledging your parody I’m with you on the bowls. The World Indoors championship is good viewing.
