If that’s the case - why are you so adamant we should stick with Roy..??

Roy’s the problem..!!

Losing our three best players for most of the season and insufficient spending in the Summer is our problem

An inability to see what is in front of you. That is your problem.

I agree about losing three of our best players in Olise, Eze and Doucoure.

I agree recruitment summer window wasn’t great - not using our loan allocation in neither the summer or winter window to improve and increase squad depth IMO is simply staggering - especially the winter window when the injuries were apparent.

But IMO the broader issue is Roy not making the most of the quality and talent he has available and stubbornly sticking to his favourite players of proven mediocrity whilst ignoring and in some instances openly maligning the younger players with more talent and potential to those he plays week in and week out irrespective of how poorly they are performing.

Look IMO if Franca, Ahamada, Ozoh etc.. were with any other team in the bottom half they’d be playing - starters - so why does Roy continually overlook them.??

That’s the biggest issue - especially at a club that has heavily invested in the academy - meaning that first team selection is at odds with the clubs overall strategy.

That’s my major issue with Roy and why I am so adamant he needs to go and be replaced by a manager that will embrace youth and make the most of the talent and potential within the squad, u23’s, u18s and academy.

That’s my opinion - but I know you and I are polar opposites on this view - so we will never agree - which is fine - as that is what this forum is all about debate and differing opinions..!!

We will see over the remainder of the season how things pan out..!!

Look, the plain truth is that sacking Hodgson is not logical under the circumstances.
He is not the primary cause of our problems. If anyone at the club thought he was, then he would be out the door already.

More importantly, perhaps, continuously whining about the manager is counterproductive to remaining in the League. The board will decide who manages. Steve Parish is not a man who will be swayed by the irrational griping of a few hundred supporters.

Grit the teeth and dig in. That is my advice.

You talk sense, one of the few. Many are like rabid dogs out for Roy, whatever he does. They overlook the fact he has been in management at the top level for 45 years, you dont last if you are clueless. I accept the game has moved on and he hasnt, but he knows more about the players than anyone of us does, as he works with them 6 days a week.

A new manager is risky mid season, it worked last time as Roy knew the Palace set up from his previous time.

The idea of relegation being not so bad is madness, it would mean years in the wilderness with Stoke, Wigan, Charlton, Sheff Wed, Sunderland the list is endless.

As I said you and I will never agree over Roy - our views and opinions are polar
opposites..!!

What I would say is that my views and those that share my views are not irrational - in fact our views are entirely rational and well founded given recent results, performances, selections and tactics.

But I agree - we are now in a position where we need to fight for our Premiership survival and that’s something we all agree on and are united about..!!

This is precisely what I don’t get - yes Roy has been a Manager for over 45 years - but other than a few titles in Scandinavia he’s won/achieved nothing..!!

In fact it’s completely the opposite - his career is littered with the same under achievement we are witnessing now - England being a prime example..!!

That’s simply why I don’t get why he is held in such high esteem in Managerial/coaching terms - his record simply doesn’t warrant it..!!

The Championship.

Good standard of play, 46 matches, all modern grounds facilities, and it is decided on the pitch.

And it flows, not ruined by VAR (yet).

But no, we've worked so hard to be where we are, get stuck in.

The PL is hardly an equal playing field or actually particularly enjoyable but then no pain no gain.

It is superior to the championship on terms of masochism, an essential element for the Palace fan.

Have you compared his England team to the one we have now?
What about his Liverpool side?
Players are more important than managers.

You aren't being reasonable, and any crusade to sack Roy will only achieve negativity. We must be positive to increase our chances of winning.
If I thought for one minute that sacking Hodgson would keep us up, then I would be all for it.
The truth is that getting key players fit will be the only thing that makes a real difference.

So that would be the same England side then - where Roy had Englands now record goalscorer taking corners and we got eliminated by losing to Iceland in the Euro 2016 group stages..!!

Followed by the infamous not wanting to face the press as “I’m know longer England Manager” debacle - yet more evidence of Roys stubbornness, arrogance and belief nothing is ever his fault - personality traits that remain today and if anything got worse..!!

On Liverpool he was appointed in Summer 2010 - got knocked out of the League Cup by the mighty Northampton Town and was sacked in January 2011 - replaced by caretaker Manager Kenny Dalglish..!!

What on earth are you going on about..!!

If you are going to come back at me cite Fulham or West Brom - where he did an OK job - but that’s as much as you could say..!!

So, you now agree, we are no longer a feeder club. You say being in the Premier isnt enjoyable, but you liked it when we sold our best players in the past, strange.

It's not strange to point out we are struggling on many levels and hence, it ain't enjoyable...

Let's unpack this... "we are no longer a feeder club" well, in the last 11 years, we haven't... but for decades before that, to what I know my club to be, we were... and I was fine with that.. like I said, I know who we are, we don't have the infrastructure to be a prem club, anyone that thinks we do, is in denial. Otherwise we wouldn't be in this mess, asking if relegation is bade idea - of course it's not good, but why is it even being discussed.

Sure, you may have enjoyed palace over the last 11 years, that's great.. but I really haven't.. the highs have been few and far between. So to reiterate, for me, being a club that punches above its weight and at times, gives it a go, see local lads come through, sees players sold on for a profit - that to me seems far healthier.

Anyways, until next time, take care.

If they had a better option lined up, Roy would be gone. Let's not pretend otherwise. Truth is, I doubt any manager would want to come to palace right now.. there;es no stability or plan I place... managers today, they want a certain amount of freedom.. does Parish and co really give that? Who knows but it looks unlikely... my problem, get parish out, move on... let's see what someone with money can do.

That is your problem, you dont know, when the club is run properly. Lets look at the previous owners.
Bloye sold off land to Sainsburys, then went to QPR taking best players with him.
Noades made a fortune from Palace taking a £1m a year minimum to finance his other interests.
Goldberg no sense got eaten by sharks into administration.
Jordan, huge ego limited success, then administration.
Parish longest period at top level and sound financial shape, but you want him out!
