Premiership rules strictly now prohibit owners/investors/directors of a club having any connection whatsoever to income. IE: they are not allowed to buy naming rights for one of their companies and they are not allowed to use one of their companies to sponsor the club at a way inflated figure just to get the club's turnover/income up. This was pushed hard by Daniel Levy when Newcastle's takeover was completed (for obvious reasons). The thing that is unfair on everyone else is deals that are already in place at clubs such as Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool, United are allowed to not only stay in place but are also allowed to be renewed!

My hope is that the arrival of a new manager will have to be accompanied with a promise and delivery of sincere investment in playing staff. Again, may well be very wishful thinking, but I imagine us finishing this season unexcitingly in 8-15th place, bringing in a new manager and a few new players to bolster what we have now. We may see a few exits too. This season was all set to be placeholder one for us and is looking to be so, with any over-achievement a huge bonus. Hopefully the 2024-25 season will see a lot more and improved transfer activity to enthuse the club, us as fans, and the players too. A bottomless pit, Saudi, Emirate style takeover with nothing but the best intentions for the club at heart is a real pipe dream only Citeh and now possibly Newcastle will experience, hasn't even worked for PSG. Until then, we're almost certainly lucky to have Parish and any b!tching about that situation is surely the most removed from reality, especially given our past. SERIOUS investments gets us to 10th. We get another couple of million in prize money but at the expense of debt/future transfer payment commitments. A sad state of affairs but the life of a makeweight epl team.

I have been posting for years that the measure of success of a reasonable run in the prem is how the club looks at the end of it. The stadium is desperately in need of upgrading, achieve that, along with the academy and a healthy financial position and I would say that Parish’s tenure was a total success. European football, silverware would be great but not at the expense of the longer term success of the club.

Even so, there was some suggestion that Textor had funded the purchases of Andersen, Geuhi, Dacoure etc. I presume that was in the form of a loan to CPFC, as a gift would not be allowed. I believe that the funds that Textor injected came in the way of an increase in the company's share capital which is one way around FFP

The Wednesday fans have pi55ed him off by constantly saying they’re the real owners of the club as fans, this fella is just the most recent custodian, even though he’s pumped up 150 million in his time. So this is him saying it’s their turn if they think they’re the real owners. SJ was a little bit sympathetic with him, because from his obvious experience fans demand this and demand that and keep telling owners how to spend their money and how much they should be spending. Obviously this fella has fcuked it up at Wednesday but it does sound like he’s had enough of putting money into the club

Guess he's sticking by his statement.
