Good thinking on olises part. Players should have release clauses in their contracts so clubs can't stop them leaving if they want to. If Zaha had one he would have went to arsenal a few years back. If Kane had one he wouldn't have had to go to Germany etc... Release clauses could be the way to stop the over inflated market prices.

Well that’s that so. Our most exciting team in many a moon is being taken apart. Lets pray França is the answer. I literally despise Chelsea now. An absolute diamond of a player going to that privileged bunch makes my blood boil.
"Look at that. Accident blackspot? These aren't accidents! They're throwing themselves into the road gladly! Throwing themselves into the road to escape all this hideousness!" |

Just another mighty fcuk up by Freedman and co. Quite right. We should have insisted on a much higher release clause so that he wouldn't have signed and gone to another club instead

The big clubs will just pay bigger wages to the players rather than bigger transfer fees to the clubs. It is a destabilising way to carry out business and causes bad feelings amongst both clubs and fans and possibly the players themselves as you will end up with clubs tapping up players during the season up to January and again up to seasons end. I suppose they could rule that release clauses can only be implemented after the season has finished and make contact with players more of a no no than it currently is but certain teams seem to ignore all these rules anyway.

Always a fan of Dougie and Parish but this is pretty crap. £35 million (if true) is peanuts in terms of how much players of a certain calibre go for now. Hopefully they learn from such an uninspiring release clause if true. Buy a gem just to sell for half of what he's potentially worth. I'd be pretty pissed off if I was Roy if we don't get anybody else in. Just when you think the teams looking to shape up really well.... Zaha off and Olise. Eze will look for an exit next summer I have no doubt. Back to teams focusing Eze. (much of the same of how Zaha used to be focused and doubled up on.) Let's hope the rest of the team step up, we certainly need the likes of Edouard to do so.

I agree with ME’s point. May have been the case he said £24mil release cause, treble your money, in which case £35mil is great. I’m very sad to see him go but am more angry about the glaring prospect of us not replacing him or Wilf which is infuriating as a fan.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

To lose both Zaha and potentially Olise in a matter of weeks is a huge blow to a club like Palace.
